Anti-Saudi sentiment alarms the administration and the oil industry.
We will never attack the SA royals because we are in bed with them.
bump
You will find many more rape victims in the US than any Muslim country because in the US they aren't systematically murdered by their families for the sake of "honor".
Sorry, if the shoe fits as the saying goes.
They are curiously silent about all of this!
Upcoming Movie to Expose Wal-Mart's Anti-Women, Anti-Worker Practices
NOW is partnering with Robert Greenwald, the producer of "Outfoxed" and "Uncovered" to help make and promote a new movie called "WAL-MART: The High Cost of Low Price." Activists can help finish the film by submitting photos and videos, or can host a screening.
Very sad.
I don't know how they can live that way. I guess they have no choice, don't know any different or can't get out!
If you look at Africa, for example, they mutilate their women in addition to treating them worse than cattle.
NOW was silent about Kathleen Willey and every other rape victim of the Clinton administration. What makes you think they'd come out against Muslims?
NOW should be called DOWN (Donations Of Women Nationally )
or
GOWN (Gutless, Opinionated Women Nationally)
The one time that Oprah actually got something right.
... only for animals, instead of people.
"Women are the driving force of any society"
Only in Saudi Arabia they aren't allowed to drive! lol
This was just too rich, I had stop quit reading because I was laughing so hard.
Yes indeedy, the women of Islam are so loved and have so much freedom, I almost envy them.....NOT!
Maybe we should start a petition. I am proud I am not Saudi.
Sad but true. Those SOB's fund mosques and schools in this country that preach hate for the west and we still won't stop trying to be their friends.
LOL. Not quite up to speed on that whole freedom thing, are we? Someone ping me to this next time we're scolded for how little we know about other cultures.
Excellent analogy.
It reminds me of part of a famous and often used quote from Samuel Adams.
"Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you..."
On the surface, there appears to be a correlation between acceptance of terrorist/Taliban ideology and an even more extreme denial of women's rights than is normally found in an Islamic society. I'd like to see a media focus (especially if it were reseached and reported on by women, like Oprah) that includes the influence of Islam but takes it further and focuses on Islam's effects on the universal male psychological issues regarding "power" that could be at play here. Take the media focus off the denial of women's rights, a symptom, and put it on a potential psychological cause. We have the mistreatment of women, especially the denial of rights held by men. We see primarily single young men. We see the "72 virgins for suicide bombers" phenomena. Not that we don't need to keep killing them, but maybe the underlying problem here is somehow related to profound feelings of inadequacy and a need to deal with that. [Maybe we need a psychological test to discover terrorists (Muslim MultiPhasic Terrorist Potential Inventory?) Maybe we could give them all a laptop and a basic programming class. They could create their own little virtual world and exercise as much control as they need to feel powerful and adequate; maybe even feel the sense of power that flows from contributing their opinion to a forum like this. ("AnyThingButFreewomenPublic.xxx"?)]
In the case of Muslims, they bite the hand that feeds them, and they kiss the boot that kicks them.
