WASHINGTON Federal agents have dealt a serious blow to the violent Honduran street gang known as M-S-13.Using information from local and state law enforcement agencies, federal agents charged 103 members with a range of criminal and immigration counts.
The arrests came in New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Newark, Miami and Dallas metropolitan areas over the last several weeks.
The Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which headed up the operation, calls M-S-13 one of the largest and most violent street gangs in the U-S with the majority of its members in the country illegally.
The gang has carried out beheadings and grenade attacks in Central America and here in this country is known to hack its enemies with machetes in cities along the East Coast.
My sister was born in Honduras. I'm damned glad we adopted her for so many different reasons.
Scary shit, to say the least. Hopefully we can somehow really start to stop the influx of bad folks of all types. So many bad guys you don't know half the time who you are looking at when out in public places. Ya don't know if we got more Islamofacist cells lurking around or South and Mid American Drug Dealers and their thugs sneaking around.
As big bad Big James Brown song in the rocky movie......
only in America. Yea, tis going down the tubes.
I was going to email this to my brother who's two young daughters are down in Hondorus at an orphanage they've been helping out at for the last 7 years. OOps - THEIRRRRR HEERRRRRRRE!

North Carolina leads nation with foreign gang arrests
The Associated Press
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Federal immigration agents in three regions of North Carolina have arrested 77 people in recent weeks who were suspected of being gang members living illegally in the United States.
Authorities said 34 men with suspected affiliations to Hispanic street gangs were picked up in the Triangle area, 25 were detained in the Triad and 18 in the Charlotte area.
The North Carolina total led the nation in a roundup that resulted in arrests of 582 across the country, officials said Monday.
Arrests in Raleigh were higher than the number in much larger cities - 23 in Los Angeles and 19 in New York. Local police worked with federal agents in the operation.
The sweep followed a roundup that began in the spring, targeting members of Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13, a violent street gang born in Los Angeles neighborhoods with a strong presence in North and Central America.
"We are working to convey that this is a community that will be intolerant of violent, illegal, street gang activity," said Raleigh police spokesman Jim Sughrue.

"Explosions kill 4; injure nearly 30 in western Mexico"
By LUIS CARLOS SAINZ
Associated Press
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "TONALA, Mexico -- Two assailants lobbed grenades into a crowded cockfighting ring before dawn Monday in this western Mexican city, killing four people and wounding 25 others, four critically, state investigators said.
Two people were killed at the scene of the attack and two more died while receiving medical treatment, said Gerardo Octavio Solis, attorney general for Jalisco state. The ring was located at a racetrack in Tonala, located outside Guadalajara, Mexico's second-largest city.
The explosions tossed chairs and sent onlookers fleeing from the scene, which was strewn with blood. Police and military officials guarded the site midday Monday.
Solis said 25 of the more than 100 people who attended the cockfight were injured. Federal and state authorities were investigating and hunting for two attackers."
Strange that this would show up in a Montana paper.
Incarcerate them in the Aleutians. Give them a speedy military trial by tribunal, followed by execution. If for some reason they are found "innocent" of everything except crashing our borders, deport them to their countries of origin and deliver them directly into the hands of their police. If they show up here again, wash, rinse, repeat. If they even spit on the sidewalk, execute them the next time they are picked up.
Ok, I see that deportation means nothing.
If they come back, sling their A$$ in an American jail! Throw away the key!!!!
Not there is it..........
they are not born or naturalized US citizens
*sigh*
if only the the 14th Amendment had not devolved to using the term "person" we would be able to deal with these villains effectively, summarily, and permanently.

"Nabbing illegals"
TODAY'S EDITORIAL
August 3, 2005
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Since there are about 5,000 members of the murderous Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang in the Washington area, it's hard to get too excited about the apprehension of 11 in the past few weeks. Still, the announcement Monday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents have arrested more than 1,000 gang members nationwide so far this year is good news.
Originally intended to dismantle only the MS-13 gang, ICE's anti-gang initiative, Operation Community Shield, extended its mission in May to track more than 80 violent street gangs in 30 states. Almost all of these gangs consist of illegal aliens from Central and Latin American, though a few, like the Asian Boyz and the Jamaican Posse, reveal that the problem is global. Of the 1,000 gang members who have been arrested this year, 90 percent have been illegal aliens. Suspects were caught in nearly every major U.S. city, as well as in the rural areas of Iowa, South Dakota and Nebraska. "We're just getting started," said Marcy Forman, ICE's director of investigations. Let's hope so. Street gangs now account for 93 percent of all homicides in which organized crime is the suspected cause, according to the FBI."

"Honduran police arrest two youths in slaying of U.S. agent (MS-13 or Mara 18)"

TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras-
ARTICL SNIPPET: ""They are dangerous offenders, despite their young ages," Honduran Security Minister Oscar Alvarez said Sunday.
Honduran authorities are struggling to combat high rates of violent crime, much of it involving ruthless youth gangs, known as "maras," concentrated in urban areas.
The Mara Salvatrucha and rival Mara 18 have about 100,000 members and control poor neighborhoods in Honduras' principal cities using violence, threats and extortion.
On a two-day break in the Honduran capital, Markey took a cab from his hotel to visit the Basilica of Suyapa, a shrine to the country's patron saint, where he was confronted by two assailants and shot twice, according to testimony from his taxi driver.
Honduran authorities said the U.S. agent had been training Honduran police involved in drug interdiction efforts. He was assigned to the General Watch Unit at the El Paso Intelligence Center in El Paso, Texas, at the time of his death."
Why waste a boat trip?

these guys are pure evil ... thug terrorists, if you ask me:
Notorious MS-13 gang surfaces in Hillsborough County (Tampa, Fla.)
THE TAMPA TRIBUNE
TAMPA A ruthless street gang with a reputation for cutting off rivals fingers and carving up snitches with machetes appears to have a foothold here.
They are the Mara Salvatruchas, or MS-13, and a week ago, Hillsborough County deputies arrested three members in a northwest county neighborhood after they tried to persuade a Honduran man to join us or die, Sgt. Scott Wellinger said.
Fortunately for the man, a deputy was driving by and saw him gesture for help. Recognizing what appeared to be gang tattoos on the suspects, he called for backup.
The victim, a 38-year-old illegal immigrant, told the MS-13 that he was too old to join their gang and wasnt interested, Wellinger said. One man shoved him, and when he shoved back, the rebuff angered the MS-13 enough for one to raise his shirt to expose the handle of what turned out to be a pellet gun.
For weeks, deputies heard from tipsters that the gang was making its presence known on the streets through intimidation and threats, but the July 30 arrests became the first official record of an MS-13 presence in the county.
And where there are three, there are likely to be more, Wellinger said. Its going to take time to find out how many. Its unlikely an MS-13 problem would keep to the north end with plenty of Hispanic migrants for the gang to target in eastern and southern portions, he said.
Detectives suspect each of the men arrested are in the country illegally. Court records show they were all born in Central American countries.
Frank Dasaro, assistant special agent in charge of Tampas Immigration and Customs Enforcement office, said his agency is committed to targeting MS-13 members in the country illegally.
They are the next big problem as far as gangs, he said. When you remember California, there were the Crips and Bloods. Theyre pansies compared to these guys.
