NY TIMES INVESTIGATES ADOPTION RECORDS OF SUPREME COURT NOMINEE'S CHILDREN

**Exclusive**

The DRUDGE REPORT has uncovered a plot in the NEW YORK TIMES' newsroom to look into the adoption of the children of Supreme Court Nominee John G. Roberts.

The TIMES has investigative reporter Glen Justice hot on the case to investigate adoption records of Judge Roberts’ two young children, Josie age 5 and Jack age 4, a top source reveals.

Judge Roberts and his wife Jane adopted the children when they each were infants.

Both children were adopted from Latin America.

A TIMES insider claims the look into the adoptions are part of the paper's "standard background check."

Roberts’ young son Jack delighted millions of Americans during his father’s Supreme Court nomination announcement ceremony when he wouldn’t stop dancing while the President and his father spoke to a national television audience.

Previously the WASHINGTON POST Style section had published a story criticizing the outfits Josie’s and Jack’s mother had them wear at the announcement ceremony.

One top Washington official with knowledge of the NEW YORK TIMES’ plans declared: “Trying to pry into the lives of the Roberts’ family like this is despicable. Children’s lives should be off limits. The TIMES is putting politics over fundamental decency.”

One top Republican official when told of the situation was incredulous. “This can’t possibly be true?”

Hey lets really get the NY Times on a wild goose chase.... The kids are obviously Roberts and Peggy Noonan's from back when they worked together in the Reagan WhiteHouse. The children were then shipped to South America and cryogenically frozen (probably by Nazi scientiists) until they were thawed out and adopted by their birth father 4 or 5 years ago.

Oh come on!!! They are little kids dressed like little kids for crying out loud!! What should they have worn?? A leather halter top and leather chaps?

The kids wore the same type of clothes that my mother dressed her kids in and that I dressed my kids in when they were little

And I can guarantee you that we aren't Old World ... nor from old money

they want to suggest he bought his children

That was my first thought. Poor kids. Whatever happens they'll have to live with it.

It's easy just put their last name in front of @nytimes.com. For example : krugman@nytimes.com, or : editorial@nytimes.com. Good luck, they NEVER respond to a conservative viewpoint.

"The answer is either a) John Roberts is a lot wealthier or b) The kids are from third country."

If the kids are from some other country, is that in itself a problem, or does it point to some problem or illegality? Say they're from the Ukraine - what are the implications of that?

Hi, cyborg. Please see my reply #220.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if there are homes for unwed mothers in Latin America where women from Europe or North America can go to avoid what I think of as "peer pressure" abortion.

This is a wonderful service. One of the problems in the US is that there are no places for professional women to go - everything here is directed at lower income teenagers, which is certainly a worthy group, but it's going to be hard for the 45yr old female executive (of any color) to fit in!

One of other the big problems is that adoption in the US has become so conditional that many people simply don't want to do it. You can thank the pro-abortion groups for this - they hate adoption.

A looooong time ago when I was about 7 my favorite dress looked German, too. I loved it so much I didn't want to get rid of it when it didn't fit anymore. LOL

It would depend on the adoption laws of whatever country's are involved. Which is why people go overseas. To avoid our long waiting lists and strict adoption laws. Other countries are quite a bit more lenient. That's the angle they are looking for. It was likely a "private" adoption which probably means money changed hands. The entire angle is despicable, but trust me that's the angle they are looking for.

Wow. That crack about the kids' clothes says everything about the biases of the person who wrote it.

That is more than a little "King Herod"-like IMO.

How so? I don't understand your reference to "King Herod".

Exactly! And you know that's what made them mad- someone would actually show our President respect.

I happen to agree. Need the adoption version of Betty Ford clinics. However, I'm not sure how successful that will be. It's easier to get an early abortion and be done with it. I'm just guessing but a woman with money who doesn't mind will probably keep the baby and hire a nanny. Maybe aim it more towards the upper class 20 and 30 something crowd. I hate to be pessimistic but it'd have to be like Canyon Spa and Ranch for some of those to do such a thing.

Perhaps the Times could expand this angle to report on how many celebrities do this, too. Or is it okay for a celeb and not for a Judge?

I have Brazilian friends with mixed Italian and Brazilian blood. Their two children were blonde and when I asked them about it, they told me they were blonde too as children for a long time. They both now have light skin but dark hair.
