You appear to hold some idea that people prefer to die by means other than atomic weapons. The truth is a larger number of Japanese, American and those in occupied Asia would almost certainly have died had we not used the Bomb.
Dead is dead. There's nothing sacred about atomic weapons. And the history of 20th century warfare demonstrates that there are no civilians in the old sense that they were noncombatants and were therefore spared. Those chivalrous notions about civilians were buried in WW II.
