Not only that, but I am utterly full of myself.
I wrote that within a WEEK nobody would remember a word that I wrote.

"Within two minutes" is much more like it!

You under sell yourself. I'll remember, because you are the first to take that position so confidently and back it up with a good analysis.

Candy Crowley at CNN said that she's amazed, whenever she goes out and talks to Democrats, Hillary Clinton is like a goddess.

Well, Candy baby, Hillary might look like a goddess to you but to us grass-roots folks she looks like a felon lawyer who has gotten away with far to many things in her life.

BTW Candy baby, what has Hillary done as a US Senator? Name one thing that she can take credit for in the last 5 years? One thing, that is, that was not for the promotion of Hillary, but for the country???????

I think Hillary Clinton's got feet of clay.

She has not been tested. She has avoided questions, dodged, hasn't been pitched them.

When her opponent, Lazio, tried to get aggressive with her, she brushed him off like a puppy dog and did not answer.

Jeanine Pirro is a public prosecutor. Her job is asking direct, demanding questions, cross-examination. Hillary will debate her, and Hillary will lose those debates.

But, of course, a Senatorial race is not a Presidential race. A few people will be swayed by the debates, but most people will make up their minds before.

Look at the issues Hillary might be able to use: abortion, gun control, gay marriage...all the social hot buttons.
Pirro's on the same side.
No traction.
Of course, Hillary might trot out the issues because she thinks forcing Pirro to state her position will damage Pirro with conservative Republicans. And that may do some harm. Some conservative Republicans will not vote for anybody who is pro-abortion, period. But in the process, she will flesh out the reasons why Pirro is a perfectly acceptable candidate to moderates out there who don't like Hillary and would like to vote for someone else.
The naughty husband bit is neutralized between the two, and really plays worse for Hillary, because if her attack dogs start to raise that, Pirro's will raise HILLARY'S conspiracies and illegal acts - never mind her husbands.

All that negative stuff won't get votes either way, but that's the point: it's kif-kif.

Pirro is more physically attractive.
That's going to make a difference.

And Hillary will be flushed out on seeking the Presidency. She'll be beaten over the head by the fact that she'll be trying to leave. There's no retort to this.

Mere geographics: Pirro will play well upstate and in the suburbs, and will do alright in parts of NYC too, tell me that Hillary Clinton is doomed to defeat. But she WILL run. She won't back out and back away. The Dems will figure they can destroy Pirro and surge to victory. The Dems will be very wrong.

I take it that Candy Crowley doesn't spend much time in the red states. I live in a rural county in the state of Arkansas and this county has always voted strong for the democrat party. The democrats here hate Hillery's guts. I know the Chairman for the democrat party in this county and he told me if hillary gets the nomination he ill not vote for her. Candy, you don't know what your talking about.

I wonder if Schumer would like to be the senior Senator again.

I agree with all that. Hillary didn't win on her own merits.

She won because-

1) New York is Liberal

2) She had the name Clinton

3) Rudy pulled out

Hillary has yet to win a race on her own merit.

BTW, I am glad Rudy didn't take this race. I know a number of Republicans wanted him to but he wouldn't have won. Ironically, while close to Pirro on issues here, he's become strongly linked to conservatives in the Party. Most of us like him, if don't necessarily agree. That would turn Liberal Democrats in N.Y. off. They weren't going to put someone seen as close to Bush in the Senate. Pirro retains some distance so she'll be viewed more as 'one of them' on the social issues even though Rudy is alike.

I much would have rathered Rudy go to new jersey and run for Govenor, but he has his heart set on the W.H. Even though I think he would have been a lock and the perfect person to clean N.J. up after his experince in NY with the mob.

I also agree Hillary won't quit. Anyone that thinks Hillary will give up power doesn't know her. She'll only leave that seat if defeated, and even then not willingly.

I think she would have beaten Rudy, and that was a strong motivator for him to pull out.

Prostate cancer? Sure. But if he had been winning, he would have had the treatments and continued to campaign.

In 2000, the Clintons were President and Al Gore was expected to win.
September 11th took the sheen off the Clintons in New York.
There's serious stuff to be worried about.

I think Hillary's going to figure that with all of the national power and money of the whole Democratic Party turned on New York, she can beat some suburban prosecutor.
The Dems will be horrifically nasty.
But I don't think Hillary will win it.
Give Pirro the name and face recognition of statewide ads upstate and in the suburbs (where she's already known), and she'll close the gap.

The more times she talks with Hillary, the more she wins.

"This is the kind of candidate who can get under Hillary's skin. A real woman with real accomplishments."

I agree. I do suspect, however, that Hill will come out with 'all the work she's been doing for the people of NY and the American people". Such as serving on the Senate Armed Services Committee and all the other things she's done (or think she has). Jeanine slapped her down a bit on Fox & Friends this a.m. - it was great!

The myth of 'the smartest woman in the country' will be washed away fast in the first debate. The witch cannot hold a candle to the quick witted and well spoken Jeanine Pirro.

Ya know, ya know, ya know ...

Note to Ms. Pirro.

Bring up Hillary's connection to Saul Alinsky, early and often.

Saul Alinsky was Hillary's mentor who said, among other blood curdling little expressions of leftist dogma...Life is a corrupting process ... he who fears corruption fears life.

Also, what about the senior thesis from Wellesley College?

These are the most critical questions Ms. Pirro can ask of Hillary, and they can be asked either in a debate or rhetorically, to a news camera.

.

I agree that Jeanine will give Hillary a run for her money. And it is going to cost a lot.
She will be forced to use her war chest she has been amassing for her presidential run.
I don't think she will back out, because the Senate is all she has. If she backs out, then loses in '08 all she will be left with is no political future... and Slick.
I disagree. I think Rudy would have beaten her handily. He is an amazing speaker...no notes no uh uh...you knows, and an incredible debater.
Jeanine may just pull it out. Stranger things have happened.

By back out you mean, not run for the Senate?

She could even spin it, that she has her sights set on the Presidency and is backing out for the good of New Yorkers who deserve a full term Senator.

You're right. We're NOT solidly democratic. Many counties went for Bush in the last election.

New Yorkers are indeed mostly liberal.

Liberal does not equal Democrat.

Rudy Giuliani is socially liberal.
So are quite a few other Republicans (not McCain, interestingly - he's really a social conservative but more of a statist, as most military folks are).

It's a cinch that New Yorkers wouldn't elect, say, Jesse Helms if he ran over there. But that's not to say they wouldn't elect a socially liberal Republican. Pirro's socially liberal, but tough as nails on crime, and fiscally conservative. That is the way most New Yorkers are, actually, and it makes her a very dangerous opponent for Hillary Clinton.

So dangerous, in fact, that I will repeat my prediction: Jeanine Pirro will be the next Senator from New York. She will beat Hillary Clinton.

I'm beginning to have some hope that Hillary may not even run for senator. Doesn't want to spend her HILPAC bucks on a mere state when she could have fifty! Pirro will be a tough opponent.
