Actually, for a good time watch what happens to these make-up'd bimbos and gigolos on television broadcasts when the teleprompters go down. A good number of these people are taken for whatever synthetic charisma they put through a camera, and probably couldn't write their own stuff to save their job.
Meanwhile, those in radio could be operating in a pitch-dark studio and stay at 100% quality for as long as the transmitter was on. Howie Carr comes to mind, a real reporter's reporter. Or Matt Drudge - he's a great radio presence.
