pure speculation on my part, but the Trend Micro guy is saying that he first heard about this only moments before CNN called them. So I can't help but wonder whether or not someone specifically targeted the MSM with this thing.

One place where I work had a computer get hit midday Monday. We shut it down and reinstalled the OS with the service pack. I think it just took a while for this thing to hatch into a network as big and as well-protected (one would think) as CNN.
