BTW, if you are looking for a "true to life" Bond the most direct desciption of Bond's appearence by Ian Fleming is in Casino Royale, when Vesper Lynd says of Bond, "He reminds me rather of Hoagy Carmichael, but there is something cold and ruthless."

IMO of current generation actors Rupert Everett would problably be the best Bond, but I doubt that audiences are anywhere near ready for an openly gay actor in the role.
I should add that it's time for EON to go. They are out of ideas. I have no faith in their plans to re-do Casino Royal as a politically correct modern adaptation.
Dalton has never been given his due as an actor.
Bale is a good choice. Now here is a good one for the Bond job-Clive Owen.
In the past I suggested a storyline in which Connery would again play James Bond. He would go to Japan and meet with Tiger again. They are to fight terrorists for God, Emperor and Country and Bond is reunited with his son by Kissy Suzuki who he fathered in "You only Live Twice."Sean Connery is about 007 real age and then we can put this series to bed!
What's that dude from the series "Highlander", Adrian Paul? I always thought he would make a good James Bond. Though i'm quite sure it will be Ellen Degenerate(in keeping with the current hollywood trend).
--How about adding...oh, I don't know...some suspense, instead of really bad CGI effects.--
I thought that was against the current hollyweird rules...
The draft script I read on the net had Brosnan actually meeting Connery while he was recovering from his year in Korean captivity. Connery was supposed to warn him he should consider getting out of the spy business while he still could. The meeting itself wasn't written very well, but I liked the idea.
These "quips" are all part of the Bind movies, the same quips that Brosnan said he hated, or loathed. What an idiot.
"Though i'm quite sure it will be Ellen Degenerate(in keeping with the current hollywood trend)."
I can see it now. Bond will be gay and have an affair with a Muslim terrorist who has captired his heart when they were at a NAMBLA meeting!
Of course, those quips stopped being entertaining when Moore began hamming it up in the late 70s. After that, it was hard to take him seriously.
The next Bond?
Clive Owen would be good, but my choice is Eric Bana.
I think that was Shirley Eaton...
As for Bond movies, I stopped watching them after they dropped Sean Connery, he will always be Bond to me. Roger Moore will always be Simon Templar to me.
Jane Seymore wasn't bad to look at either.
"Gilt Edge" Shirley Eaton:

My vote goes to Vin Diesel........I'm tired of these suave and deboner sissies.
There's only ONE 007..and it ain't Brosnan!
