I respect your opinion, however.... Do you believe that the first thing the V.P should have done was make a call to the press? Or perhaps maybe he should have done what he did. Tend to his friend's needs first, and that includes the right to privacy of his friend and his friend's family during this horrible ordeal. I'm sure his friend will be thanking him for holding off the media hounds long enough for him to get to the hospital and have time to let his family, both far and near, know about the situation without alarming them. Perhaps having a media circus at the hospital where he was taken would have been in the patient's best interest. Perhaps V.P. Cheney put his own best interests aside for his friend.

I can totally understand why they didn't report it until (GASP) the following morning.

I can understand your thinking that Reid's situation was more "personal" so he didn't have to announce it. So, forget, Reid. Think about Clinton and Lewinksy for a few minutes. The liberal media and their liberal government cohorts are doing what they do best, and it's sickening, IMHO.
