I think you're referring to ADD, attention Deficit Disorder. I don't know anybody who would even dare suggest that autism is something that is brought on by the neglect of a parent. If you do, than I'd rethink who I hang out with because they're IDIOTS.

Well, I am going about the process of remedying that very situation. These insensitive clods happen to be my soon-to-be ex in-laws. More like Willful Ignorance on their part, and in the case of my FIL, a mean streak a mile wide.

It is QUITE commonly thought until fairly recently that autism was due to a "cold" or "unmaternal" mother.
