Yes, there were several Republicans who opposed the idea of joining the jihad against the Serbs.
John McCain was very respected back then and I believe he was the biggest influence on persuading so many Republicans to join the jihad.
Just so you know, in a recent interview on the Chris Matthews Show with Christopher Hitchens, Hitchens said he was against the nomination of John Bolton because Bolton was against intervention in the Balkans and against the bombing of Yugoslavia. Bolton was also heard to say about six years ago that the only friends America has in the Balkans are the Greeks and the Serbs.
Hitchens was on C-SPAN the other day and said that he is married to a Muslim woman. Now we know why he is so pro-Bosnian in the war against the Christian Serbs.
Hopefully, John Bolton will give some justice to the Serbs. At least, he is all we have.
