I can understand adults deciding to chance it, but I can't understand people with children doing so.

Not so delicious for me. Raw that is. Vidalia's are one of the onions I can eat well cooked. I'm somewhat allergic -not as severely as the hubbie on Desparate Housewives, but like that- to raw onions and have to avoid them. But well sauteed or carmelized, really well, and I'm okay. Vidalia's are delicious carmelized. Maui's too.

Oh, that is too funny. A little comic relief in the midst of the devastation.

They had treated the water. Stress will be the danger now.

With all of those reptiles and snakes, I would make sure that I keep away from the water..

Alligators are good eatin'...

Hopefully the reporters will not take pics of the bodies. You know they're coming with that one.

I'm sure they're gearing up for it, as soon as they can figure a way to demonize and blame Bush and republicans for the devastation, much like Mary Landrieu, D-LA, did earlier.

Why are all of the trunks open?

Electrical latches shorted by the high water? Maybe?

Why are all of the trunks open?

Just guessing the water pressure popped them open.

That is bad news. I am afraid the numbers will rise. I will keep them in my prayers, too. Thanks for the updates. My goodness.

This may be where there were fatalities in Hancock County:

People walk amidst the remains of the St Charles Condominiums and Sadler Apartments in Biloxi, Mississippi, August 29, 2005, which were pushed up between the private homes on St Charles Street by the storm surge from Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina ripped into the U.S. Gulf Coast on Monday, stranding people on rooftops as it pummeled the historic jazz city New Orleans with 100 mph (160 kph) winds and swamped Mississippi resort towns and lowlands with a crushing surge of seawater. "WHOAH. How did the dolphin get there???"

Before Katrina blew through, they moved him there from the aquarium, which was more directly in the storm path.
