Hope that as Congress gets back in town and the crisis of Katrina is brought under control that there can truly be serious hearings and MSM/public discussions..... can't hold out too much hope after seeing how well the MSM has operated as an arm of the Demagogic Party for so many years, but there are some things that they cannot ignore (even though they can 'spin').
I read a lot about the dying socialist "mainstream" newsrooms (aka the "MSM") on Free Republic threads. Are they still relevant? I mean, talk radio, the internet, and the 24-hour cable news stations pretty much blow the old media away don't they?
In any event, the old media no longer controls the selection, dissemination, and spin of the news. They can't spike stories like Able Danger and Juanita Brodderick anymore, and they certainly can't get away with their lies and fraud ("Rathergate") anymore. It's only a matter of time before Democrat organs like the New York Times are dead and gone, and the sooner the better.
