I read on another thread the mayor was not in New Orleans anymore. Does anyone have confirmation on that?

Guiliani had 98% of his city to use in responding to a disaster that encompassed a couple of dozen city blocks, functioning city services, the vast majority of his population out of harm's way, and no - NO - crises involving simply maintaining living conditions for the vast majority of his citizens.

The comparison is profoundly stupid, and I really wish folks would stop making it.
