I just saw the news report on the Video at the above link. Staff at the Nursing home said they were coping and had enough food to hold out til rescued. Now they have no more food.. Unbelievable...

Oppression by the Man. No doubt.
SHOOT THEM!!!
bump
Folks, this well get really ugly in the nexst couple of weeks. What you are seeing is only the start until the logistics catch up with the demand. I'd say 4 weeks or so.
Meanwhile 12ga's should rule!
I was thinking of a hanging, but shooting is ok with me.
Jesse JACKass need to high tail it to NO and control his community family!! This is sad and maddening!! But I still have great faith in Americans and know that there is a lot MORE good that's happening there that we have heard yet! Neighbor helping neighbor and so on!
Hanging takes too long, and ya gotta find some rope.
many of those "stranded by poverty" in N.O. actually wanted to stay for the purpose of THEFT.
Looters should be shot on site - no questions asked - no penalties for the occasional error --- that happens in war.
Besides stopping the theft, it brings back law and further confirms DARWIN's laws.
What the hell is it with the NOPD???? Why hasn't someone issued a "Shoot on Sight" order??????
Drowning might be more appropriate under the circumstances.
Some people are just beneath contempt.
Just futher evidence that Las Vegas doesn't have the corner on Evil in the US.
Preventing Looting is not a priority - there are still lots of stranded people, water still flooding in, etc.
IT's time for a REAL Martail Law order - with federalized Guardsmen to enforce it.
Hear tell that the NOPD is part of the problem. They're looters, too. They won't shoot 'cause they're in it with the criminals.
Just hope those marauders don't come North.
Clearly you have not been reading Free Republic threads. These poor people stayed behind because they had no money and no means of transporting themselves out of NO. Of course when the looting started at Walmart - magically - they had cars and there was a traffic jam around the parking lot. You need a car doncha know to haul the goods away.
If there's a silver lining to all this, it's that a huge number of Americans will come to understand what this woman has come to understand -- some first hand, but many more by watching and reading media coverage. If the average citizen was armed, including while at work, the looting would never have gotten out of control.
Managers at a nursing home were prepared to cope with the power outages and had enough food for days, but then the looting began. The Covenant Home's bus driver surrendered the vehicle to carjackers after being threatened.
Bands of people drove by the nursing home, shouting to residents, "Get out!" On Wednesday, 80 residents, most of them in wheelchairs, were being evacuated to other nursing homes in the state.
"We had enough food for 10 days," said Peggy Hoffman, the home's executive director. "Now we'll have to equip our department heads with guns and teach them how to shoot."

If your store is looted, don't call the cops. They have already been there.
