The mantra continues - blame President Bush but not those actually responsible for the chaos. I wish they would all just SHUT UP!

They are, as Shakespeare put it, "Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

Their mentality (or lack of) will do more to destroy this great nation than any threat we face foreign or domestic.

Just wondering where the Republican PR machine is on this putting the Dims in their place, answering their attacks point by point.

Oh wait. We don't have one, because our elected leaders and the political operatives who our donations to political organizations support are too busy making anonymous leaks to the WaPo so they can get invited to better cocktail parties.

I have never in my life seen at a mayoral level such deafening silence. In ANY local disaster, accident or event, the mayor is at the forefront of the incidence. This guy seems only to give a one sentence statement now every few days. "Desperate SOS" yesterday. What is that suppose to mean? JMO. I havent seen this guy in days.

Forget the MSM...there are plenty of people right here at FR who need to STFU.

Quite frankly I think both sides should shut up and spend that energy toward trying to save the people who need saving. Deal with whose fault it is or isn't after that job has been finished.

The MSM, race pimps, and liberals never fail to point out that the overwhelming color of the victims are Black. Yet, these same cretins are strangely silent as to the overwhelming White color of those doing all that is humanly possible to rescue those Black victims.

OK, so the Left wants to impeach President Bush for (fill in the blank). Emotionally, I understand where they are coming from. Every week, I wanted to impeach Clinton for something or other.

Practically, who's next in line? Cheney. Since they think Cheney is responsible for Bush's actions anyway, this is not going to help them any. Then you have the Speaker of the House (Hastert) and the President Pro Tem of the Senate (Ted Stevens) or maybe it's the other way around. Then we start going through the Cabinet.

I think even the craziest of the crzies on the left knows this and are just trying to weaken the President and the Republicans' popularity to take over Congress in 2006 and the Presidency in 2008.

It is up to grassroots activists like us here on FR to save the A**es of the Republican politicians to keep them in power and keep the liberal lunatics from running the asylum.

They won't shut up. They actually welcomed this disaster as another opportunity to bash President Bush. We need to make sure that they get busted on all their stupid pronouncements, such as the one made by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and show the world that they are a bunch of anti-American socialist traitors.

Gee, if my memory serves me correctly....I believe that there are locally elected officials in LA who are responsible for disaster preparedness...

But since that's obviously not the case, then we need to turn all of LA into a federal colonly, since it looks like if the least thing goes wrong there, it's all Bush's fault.

Now is not the time to get into a pissing contest with these fools. Get the job done. When the time comes much will have to be said and fingers pointed. Starting with the condition of urban areas after decades of democratic political dominance and it's (non)effect on lifting people up out of poverty and teaching self-respect and responsibility instead of wasting time/energy preaching racial hate.

Not to sound like Jesse Jackson but... "people need education not reparation" or "educate, not misappropriate"

When the good citizen-survivors of this catastrophe in NO get through this and start to point fingers they should be reminded of how much suffering was caused, how many lives were lost and how many lives were put in jeapordy by the thugs they themselves have tolerated and sheltered in their neighborhoods. That can include both the goblins in the streets and the politicians and judges they have elected. This is the fruition of liberalism. They created these circumstances and conditions.

if this had happened in some lily white red state city (i assume the commentor is talking about a city that is predominately affluent white republicans) the reaction WOULD be much different. the people would have left, and instead of fighting looters, we'd already be into clean-up.

Nothing new here. The Dem's will blame the GOP; the GOP will blame the Dem's. Nothing will change.

We are so split as a society. Just what those in power have wanted and worked towards for many years, so we will all reap the whirlwind.

Our system of governance is really broken and I don't believe even Humpty Dumpty could pick up all the pieces.

One person who has certainly shut up is Mary Landrieu. Has anyone seen her face for 2-3 days? I haven't. Between the time she said it was ok to loot and the time the looting became a HUGE problem, she just disappeared. What's wrong Mare, don't want to answer for your bad judgment?? Don't want to be seen popping your face between Blanko and Nagin anymore, eh?

Anyone with the energy to criticise should apply that energy to the relief effort.
