The Rev. Al Charlatan has spoken. Unfortunately, for him and his ilk, the poeple of America saw who was doing the looting and exactly what was being taken. I'd bet that most people had no problem with people breaking into stores to get food and water because there was a need for that. What Americans saw, however, were people breaking into clothing, jewelry and electronics stores on Canal St and elsewhere, and trying to enrich themselves. I wonder what their plan is when they're required to evacuate the city. Are they planning to carry those big screen TVs with them on the bus?

I think perhaps this is an attempt to reference "Nero fiddling"...but then again, I guess Western Civilization for "Revenand Al" is just a bunch of dead white guys that all look the same.

It's people like Al Sharpton who hurt this country as much as Katrina did. The bad news is that we have too many of his kind and that we pay too much attention to these racists who undermine our society. It's not only the people of NO whom we should empathize with; it's all of America for taking these clowns seriously.

"escaped" - "released" - semantics - what's the real difference ..?? They were OUT OF JAIL - and they had guns. Fortunately, somebody with a brain - removed all the ammo from the city.
