How dare the new york times. They have no idea what Houstonians have done. My church alone gave $1M. Joel Osteen's Lakewood gave $5M. The Kroger stores are nearly out of toothbrushes. The doctors from Baylor and Texas Medical Center are working overtime to provide medical care to thousands. Shut up NY times.

I am. Unfortunately, I have been guilty of it myself and intend to stop. But this particular item about Houston is bizarre - how exactly are they profiting from this? Did Houston really need 30,000 people without jobs, homes or money to suddenly move to their city?

The left is tonedeaf.

It thinks that shrillness is convincing.

They thought that if they scrwamed at the top of their lungs about Karl Rove's (true) statements about leftist antipatriotism they would get him fired.

They thought if they ceasely promoted Cindy Sheehan's high-decibel ranting they would get a majority in the US in favor of ignominious withdrawal.

They thought if they howled about John Roberts' "fascist" opinions, they would get his nomination shot down.

Now they think crowing about the Bush administration's (nonexistent) failures during the flood will get them a jump on the '06 midterms.

What was the definition of insanity again? Doing the same thing repeatedly while expected a different result?

No--I am tired of blaming the wrong ones and making scapegoats while the clueless mayor of NO and the inept gov. of LA go untouched by the MSM.

Where is the talk in the NYT about Jesse Jackson, Sharpton, Oprah, Sean Penn profiteering?

See, Houston is in "flyover"country. They're a bunch of hicks, rednecks, and a miserable sort of people who drive trucks, own guns, and exercise justice with the DP. Hell, they probably can't read english, let alone a copy of the NYT. Right? /sarc

"No one would accuse this city of being timid in the scramble to profit from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina", said Hillary Clinton in an interview today.

has the Times said anything about the incompetence of La. liberals in all this??

Have they admitted yet another mistake insinuating last Aprilt money spent on the levee's was a waste??

Have they talked about the fraud cases, posted here last night, in which La. officials were stealing/embezzling money from the Army Corps of engineers??

There is a triple-pronged liberal offensive going on in the wake of Katrina.

First and foremost, they want to pin the fiasco solely on Bush. But to do that, they have to downplay Blanco's role and also downplay how effective Texas has been in an effort to deceive that there is little difference in state-level preparedness.

So Bush is slammed, Blanco is ignored and Texas has their motives questioned. A liberal propaganda trifecta.

Blaming YOU, blaming ME... Endless assigning of responsibility...

Feeds my illusions - Gives sense of control At least now I know why my life's in a hole! And negative feelings have somewhere to go... Expressions of rage about life's bitter blow.

Feelings with targets can flow with such ease What matter if reason is brought to its knees? Nothing can happen without someone at fault Giving me permission to give them a "jolt".

Oh how I love my blaming game! Take on my judgement! - Hang head in shame! I rise superior - Moral high ground is mine! Others feel terrible - but I feel quite fine

Probably a book you do not see on the New York Times book list!

Shame on Houston for having a heart. How terrible

The time will come when NYC has to be evacuated, it will come.
