So it is not moonshine but guns that come out of China's destitute hinterland. Some talented Chinese gunsmiths may emerge in near future, after honing their skills at their basement shop.

The problem (as China is finding out) with making your primary arm in your massive conscript army easy enough for untrained peasants to stamp out quickly and easily (AK) is that untrained peasants will then go and MAKE lots of them.

Yes, but the Chinese don't have Stens. They have a LOT of ex-conscripts that learned all about the AK, SKS, Tokarevs, Makarovs, and other such stuff, though.

I was just thinking of the easiest way to manufacture. Open bolt sure simplifies things especially if it is illegal anyhow.
