Far far too many in law enforcement nowdays are control freaks who think they are above and beyond the rest of us. Maybe this was true in the past, but I don't think it was ever this bad overall in the recent history of the US (wild west times maybe). They don't see that this degrades society's respect for them, and they can not do their job without the help of the public.

You are absolutley correct in your statement. A good PO will esatablish a rapport with the people in his or her beat.

Those clientel are excelelnt resources for aiding in solving of crimes committed in their perspective areas.

Due to the government's forced hiring quotas and prior, criminals are often awarded with a badge and gun.

The NOPD needs a federal investigation by the DOJ, to put these rouge criminal cops in jail.
