Great point!
If they change the symbol, Christians should give to other organizations, like the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, or Baptist religions, instead of the Red Cross.

The Swiss government is hosting two days of talks in Geneva in an effort to agree on a new emblem for the International red Cross. Won't they have to change the Swiss flag as well?

The Christian cross has the cross bar about 3/4 way up, not in the center. There are multiple variations of the "Christian" cross - many of which are not the 3/4 version we normally think of in American Protestantism - but they are legit Christian crosses, probably more historically authentic than what we normally think of as "the" cross.

All they have to do is rotate the symbol 45 degrees. The "Little Red X" is a universally recognized symbol. But then it would look too much like "X marks the spot" for targetting. Remember that the primary purpose of the symbol is to mark medical buildings and vehicles as off-limits to targetting in wartime so they can be identified at a distance as such.
