"It's amazing how ballsy sissies get behing a keyboard. Any 5 year old girl can run after a soccer ball and kick it in the goal. Wow, real tough-guy sport. Unnngh." The same could be said of basketball of course. I see no need to denigrate a sport or anything else, just becuase you personally don;t happen to like it. Football (soccer that is) is the most popular sport in the world, so it must have something going for it.

It's popular because all you need is a ball. It's great for poor kids to play around the burned out hunks of a t-55 tank while mustafa is strapping dynamite to their cousin.

Usually, when people grow up, they move on to something a little more complex and mentally stimulating, but ther will always be cling-ons to the ultra-simple.

As for popularity, the worlds most popular spectator sport is auto racing.

"...so it must have something going for it."

Don't waste your time, if someone's masculinity is threatened by what others do or don't do, no amount of logic is gonna make the case.

It is popular because Turd World Countries need only the men and 1 ball to get a game up!

Fortunately, The U.S. is wealthy enough for most schools, begining at the high school level, can afford the equipment necessary to truly entertain sports fans with the thrills of American Football!
