Here's a little of it (paraphrasing)

On the subject on hearts: what can be said of Bader-Ginsberg;s heart -- would mine be a cold heart if I noted that her bleeding heart says that the age of consent for girls is 12? That she thinks there's a Constitutional right for prostitution?

Lindsey saying Ginsburg is a bleeding heart that would like to see the age of consent be 12 years old and that prostitution is constitutional.

I would be shocked if any Republican voted against Roberts.

What did turbin's secret memo amount to?

Turbin had a memo - which I believe was an agenda for a meeting - on which Roberts had made handwritten notes. One of the agenda items (something about Iran/Contra?)apparently distressed Turbin, and he thought that he was going to nail Roberts.

Roberts said "I did not participate in that meeting". Game over.

It came at the end of Turbin's first turn yesterday, if I recall. Check the transcript.

I can't find anything on google that suggests she meant the age of consent at 12 to be limited to girls. Well, the ACLU is a friend of NAMBLA in general, isn't it?

I'd love to see them try and filibuster this, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

John Lewis of Georgia? Is he mean? Maybe I am confusing him with that Cummings of Georgia?

Hillary needs to vote for Roberts..her move to the middle, so the others have to give her cover..especially Feinstein...there is NO way that Hillary and Schumer..same state, can vote differently...they give Roberts' a BIG pass..but the next nominee..

The dems will delay delay delay in the hopes of keeping O'Connor on the Court.

I think that the President will choose somewho who has recently gone thru the process in order to keep the momentum of changing the Court.

I think the "memo" was a list of various matters. The item circled was "Bob Jones," with a handwritten "for reply?" IIRC, Bob Jones was at the USSC when Roberts was clerking, and he was barred from having anything to do with the matter for two years following his clerkship.

Give it up, you are incorrect. Roberts is replacing Rehnquist as Chief Justice.

The next nominee will be to replace O'Connor.

Yes, and she meant age of consent for sexual activity, not marriage (for which 12 for girls would be weird, but I believe has happened in human history).

I don't see Schumer or Durbin voting for Roberts. They voted against Roberts appointment to the DC circuit. So did Biden and Kennedy if I recall correctly.

I was thinking the Collins, Chafee and Snowe triumvarate were lost causes and that we should just forget about them. But you may be right - Roberts' performance was so impressive that they may have no choice but to cross the aisle and vote with our side for once.

I still do not expect one single solitary Dim "yea" vote, though.
