The reason I claimed that not every nominee could execute the same strategery is not solely due to intellect and character -- Roberts has both in spades, but so did Bork. What makes Roberts so amazing is that in addition he is personable, witty, direct, and humble. He's also thoroughly likeable. There aren't too many people who have all of that going for them.
Agreed, yes he seems to have it all. I would be the most disappointed Republican in the US if he turned out to be another Souter.
