Jay's biggest gaff of late is to be a panelist on the Tucker Carlson show on MSNBC with that clipped haired-mean faced dyke opposite him. He was too civil and couldn't rip her apart as he would on radio.

Actually, his biggest gaffe, if you believe certain reports, was to engage in some sort of off-camera hanky panky at MSNBC, which led to him getting fired after only a couple of weeks on the air. More here:

I've read that hit piece on Jay. The fact is Jay was an advisor, campaign and White House, to GHWB and campaign advisor/manager to Buchanan and many other prominent candidates and office holders. When Jay went to Buchanan, the Bush's essentially made sure that Jay would never work again for a GOP candidate. I think that fact is clear as well.

If Jay is banned from MSNBC then why is he a regular guest on Imus? I can tell you, Jay used MSNBC to hone some of his on air skills, and obtain some reasonable national exposure as he is going national with his show in January. Reasonable exposure meant that he would not do a nutty on the dyke opposite him (dyke is his words on his radio show) and that most likely infuriated the show's producers as the dialog was too civil for interest. What they wanted was a possible train wreck every night.

Jay couldn't afford to go down with a sinking ship as surely as will happen.

For those who complain that there are too many commercial spots on Jay's shows just means that there is a lot of interest to "buy" his time by commercial interests who want to advertise. The better the ratings and demographics, the more people want to buy time and the more that time costs.
