Maybe you should have said to her. "Wow you are so deep." and made her pay for her own cheque. You would have sent her a message most men don't have the guts to do especially if she is very attractive.
Well my reply to her asking for a Dior watch was this:
"You haven't even said you want to be my girlfriend yet."
She said, "Whoa, go slow!"
"I am," I replied, "you're the one asking for a Dior watch."
She shut up after that, and that was it.
