I hope there were no sailors on that metra train. Great Lakes Naval Training Facility is up there. My son just graduated from his Navy A-school at the end of July. He'd take the Metra into Chicago almost every weekend with his buddies. A lot of sailors took the metra into Chicago.

Praying for the safety of all on that train.

Great Lakes is north of the city on a different line. This is a south side line.

Great Lakes Naval is way north - in the far northern suburbs - compared to where this was (south side of Chicago).

Metra Rail - Chicago

The people stationed at Great Lakes Naval would take the UP-N Line.

This derailment was on the line headed south out of Chicago - the far eastern one shown in blue then purple going out of the city near the 47th st. stop.
