This morning's Today Sbow (@9:15) had an interview with Wayne Purcelle and the work being done to save the Katrina pets. The entire piece was a set-up, leading you to believe that the HSUS was the Humane Society, not PETA. The kicker was that HSUS is whining for Federal funds for the work they're doing. My next move is a letter off to 1.) Today Show to ream them for the deception, and 2.) U.S. reps to request no money be allocated to HSUS/PETA for anything.

There are other places to donate to help animals displaced by the storm. I won't donate to HSUS on a bet. But, many purebreed rescues have stepped in.
