PDATE: 4:25 p.m. — Parkview Apartments, 606 Stenson Drive, and Ashley Apartments, 1415 George Ave., were evacuated at about 7 a.m. this morning and may be connected to the suicide bombing Saturday night on the South Oval. The evacuees were taken to local hotels, OU President David L. Boren said. OU Department of Public Safety said earlier today that there is a possibility of car explosives in the parking lot of the two apartment complexes. A bomb squad member is suited and headed toward Parkview now. The OU DPS, Norman Police Department and the FBI are currently investigating the scene at the complexes. OUPD are also at the scene of the bombing, but are waiting for the bus drivers to return to the buses still parked in the South Oval

Bomb squads? Gee, ya think maybe the'd wanna look around the apartment and parking lot of a kid who bombed himself? I'd only be concerned if they didn't send the bomb squad. But, as they say, that's just me.

That would be a good explanation of the cell phone outage if it only happened after the bomb.

Well there is the reported near simultaneous cell phone outages near other Big 12 games being played that night. I don't give that too much weight because I've experienced cell phone problems in a Big 12 football stadium myself. And that game was no big deal, even though the stadium was full.

It's probably foolish to assume that Fox cares anything about accuracy, but if the authorities don't know the identity of the exploded one, how would Fox know it's a student?
