Hey, no argument from me about the idiocy of this incident.
I ran into a local city JBT at my apartment pool complex, telling some children to quiet down,as they were laughing too loud at 8:30.

BATF guys providing anti-party controll at a college football game?
Nah, I don't think that is conducive to public safety or good civil order.
This is not the middle east, guns are not normally recklessly fired into the air.
Had I been in that crowd, I "might" have taken a pot shot at the undercover ATF guy myself, just as a civic duty.
I am sorry he is dead, but I am sorrier that a good LEO has to suffer for what was essentially a good judgement call.
No way the LEO could have possibly known the ATF guy was not the bad guy.
