Early in this process, many Senators were suggesting Bush nominate someone outside of the Judiciary, she certainly fits that bill. I am willing to trust that the President knows this woman and that she is a conservative.
Something else to consider, Roberts has said repeatedly that he will insist cases accepted by the court will have a clear constitutional issue to consider, otherwise they won't take the case.
