How could they release the guy if the apartment had explosives in it?
That's what I want to know. Most student apartments aren't very big so I find it hard to believe that he didn't know about it.

Well, apparently, they asked him and he told them that he didn't know anything about it.
In a little while, we're going to have to investigate the entire state of Oklahoma. Presuming were still capable of conducting an investigation.

Just because a Pakistani roommate of a suicide bomber has an apartment full of explosives, you are painting him to be some kind of "bad guy" or something. What are you, a "racist"? Islam is a religion of peace.

They released the guy because he promised the FBI that he didn't know what was in his roommate's room. He probably said the door was always locked and he wondered himself what was going on. He probably said that the strange beard the guy grew was because he was a wannabe, but didn't ever fit in with the Muslim student crowd. In fact, it is possible this kid was just plain crazy. And the FBI knows this from his psych. history. The reason I am saying this is that the feed store man reports the kid was muttering to himself. He sounds like he had mental problems.
It sounds like they picked him up before they got the search warrant for the apartment. He was picked up latter on Saturday, IIRC, while the stuff was found in the apartment on Sunday, and exploded on the police range that evening. Of course by that time, the guy is long gone for parts unknown, but predictable. Maybe they'll catch him at the border or boarding a plane or boat. Probably not though, if he heads north rather than south (The Mexicans are more careful about who they let in, at least through the official crossing points and airports.)
Still if he had plans in place, he might be in Mexico or have been there, but now headed for the tri-border area of South America.
It's interesting though that they knew to pick up those particular Muslims Saturday night, when the body wasn't ID'ed until later. Or at least the ID was released later.
