Surely you're not suggesting Bush has committed a crime and Miers will be testifying against him?
The Democrats sure think he did. The Democrats would like us to believe this is "the most corrupt administration in American history" and they are intent in proving it, or manufacturing the proof failing that.
They will use this opportunity to interrogate the White House legal counsel. They are convinced she knows something, was involved in some cover-up or another, and they are determined to expose it, or at least create the appearance for the public.

Executive privilege prevents such answering to questions. The Democrats will not get answers and they know it. They will try, but get nothing.
