GWB has warned the country against becoming vigilanties.

Everybody, get a grip and calm down. The law of averages is on your side. Just go about your normal business keeping an eye out for strange people and suspicious packages.

You should be doing that anyway.

Glad there's no Indianapolis Colts home game this week. (The second largest mosque in the country is about twenty miles down the road from Indy, in Plainfield. Not pointing any fingers just putting my paranoia on public display. I choose to call it a strong survival instinct.)

DHS hasn't been exactly playing honest with the public. Two days ago the threat to NY was 'no big deal', yet Commissioner Ray Kelly has never been known to be an alarmist: he was clearly alarmed. And what about all the contre temps in Oklahoma. We still have not gotten the straight skinny on what went on down there.

I don't trust DHS.

This is the new terror. Get caught and have great stories to tell to DHS. Whether they're true or not, if they're credible, they win a small battle, in that we have to alter our lifestyle, or behavior, or to give up some freedoms, to protect ourselves.

I'm not saying this one wasn't a real plan, only that they merely have to be credible to claim a small victory for themsleves.

I think the DHS thinks an attack is coming...and are slowly letting go of their "Not so credible" stance from the other day.

I'm not sure...the lower level guys arent concerened about disrupting our lives, they are concerned about taking them.

"This is getting ludicrous."

I agree. While I understand they can't release all the knowledge they have (rumors, speculation, etc.) it would seem that once they have a somewhat credible threat it should be mentioned. (backpacks, a car, truck, boat, transit, ferry, etc.)

AND - their statement that "attacks possible in other cities, not just transit" should be a CONSTANT statement. (see my tagline)

Exactly.Churches and schools are incredibly vulnerable.I sub in a major urban district and I stroll onto campuses carrying my rather large briefcase and no one ever questions my status. Its amazing how easy it would be to pull off some kind of attack.
A REAL terrorist would be a complete fool to try something in heavily patrolled NYC.Its the heartland and the soft targets that are most prone to being the next 9-11 horror show.

Clearly some kind of attack is coming; it was probably meant for the NY subway but now that will be difficult. So do the terrorists have the wit and the authority to change the plan and go after different targets? Or do they have to get a certified letter from old towelhead?

In other words these Terrorists want to harm us. What is new about this?

Given the deplorable state at the Border and the ridiculous constraints put on all of our elements of defense and intelligence I'm surprised we haven't seen a coordinated, nationwide day of bombs going off. Unfortunately, I fear it will take something like that to get these people to wake up and take this as seriously as they should be.

Not pointing any fingers just putting my paranoia on public display.

If they're really out to get you, it's not paranoia.

Weren't there warnings about a stadium attack last week? That would fit with a Sunday attack, would it not? But a subway attack does not. Just a thot. Be ever vigilant ... for Muzzies.
