Dobson talked to his friend Jay Sekulow who has worked with Miss Miers and, on a radio program, gave her high praise. I would be suprised if it were not something as simple as that.
That's exactly what I was thinking when I was reading the article.
Yeah, I'm afraid at that moment he just wasn't thinking.
Right. Exactly. A little of their own medicine.
No mystery. She was pro-abortion before she was pro-life. She became pro-life when she was "born again" and made Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. This happens a lot to those who become saved. Being a believer of necessity makes you pro-life because you know the Author of Life. Makes perfect sense to me. And so does Dr. Dobson hearing Miers personal Christian witness. The part I don't agree with was his telling about it. I don't believe in killing unborn babies but I do believe that we have a right to personal privacy.
You've got a lot of hatred, my friend. I doubt you know much about either man, considering your hatred for them....
Are you saying that Dobson was "talking out of his @$$"? I am shocked that you are talking about James Dobson on such a level. Here is information that should clear up the matter: James Dobson has regular discussions with Jay Sekulow (American Center for Law and Justice). Jay Sekulow has worked with Harriet Miers on several Supreme Court cases. This is what he said to Pat Robertson in an interview (which is easily found on the Free Republic): SEKULOW: Well, you know, they dont know her, and that's part of the problem. I think you will see that addressed in the next few days. People will get to know her. And no one should sell this woman short either. I have told some of my friends who are part of the talking class, as you said, Pat, that they're underestimating the prowess of this woman . . . She has a very personal demeanor. Shes not confrontive by nature, but as President Bush said, she [can be] a bulldog. She is kind of a steel fist in a velvet glove. She is a tough litigator. She represented big companies, she understands what was at stake when you adjudicate a case in front of the jury. She consistently advocated a strong litigation policy. So I think when she gets into these individual meetings with these senators, much like John Roberts, she does a very, very effective job of conveying her message. And she is somebody of significance, and I think as we get to know her, as the America people get to know her, they're going to like what they see. Look, the criticism is not illegitimate in the sense that people don't know her. But what I'm telling some of our friends, don't judge this woman until you get to know her better. And when you get to know her, you are going to be very impressed.">
This is not confidential information, this is information from Jay Sekulow who is telling the truth about Miss Miers. To characterize the truth as posterior emissions is something characteristic of the left.
dobson is a media whore
Why?
They all need to rethink their priorities, ASAP.
No, it sounds like Dr. Dobson knows something about her relationship with the Lord, which is a very intimate thing and something he "probably shouldn't know." It would have been very simple for him to blow off all the concern about his verbal indiscretion by giving this explanation.
I certainly have no use for Pat Robertson since he conveniently remembered that President Bush told him about the war in Iraq at a time when Robertson was no where near Bush. I have no doubt he tried to embarrass the President, with the help of MSM.
Hatred? No. Dislike? You bet. Christianity doesn't mean I have to give an automatic pass to nitwits.
"When you know some of the things I know that I probably shouldn't know"
how does that fit into what you just wrote?
WTF ..... ?
why is that something he shouldn't know? All the sudden, peolle should be hiding their relationship with the Lord? Is that how Dobson operates?
I'll tell you what happened. Someone asked him to say something, he wen't overboard, and now he is busted.
Why not?
Talk about false dichotomies!
