Father Time: Hef ponders a new baby
New York Daily News ^ | 10/11/05 | Lloyd Grove

Hugh Hefner is pushing 80, and he's sired four children - one of whom, Christie, runs Playboy Enterprises - but he sounds ready to spawn again. "Holly and I have talked about that," Hef told me yesterday as he held forth in his trademark red velvet smoking jacket in a bedroom at the Peninsula Hotel. "I wouldn't reject it out of hand. I certainly think it's possible."

As for grownups David and Christie, from Hef's first marriage, and teenagers Marston and Cooper, from his second, they won't be consulted.

"It's not a committee decision," Hef said.

Holly is 25-year-old Holly Madison, the first among equals of Hef's three very blond girlfriends - who are stark naked, soaped up and, in one photo, administering playful licks in the shower in a foamy pictorial for Playboy's November issue (which Hef and the threesome will autograph today at the Virgin Megastore Times Square).

"I didn't entirely see it coming," Hef mused about Ms. Madison. "She's been with me now for a little over four years. I think this is probably for the rest of my life. This is serious."

Hef's pneumatic companions - besides Holly, there's Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson - are the stars of "The Girls Next Door," E!'s popular reality show about life in the Playboy Mansion, seen through the eyes of his girlfriends.

"It's exactly the same as being the girlfriend of any other caring guy," Hef explains. "This relationship is not unique, other than the fact that there are three instead of one."

Other than that!

But it looks like Bridget and Kendra - who, as Hef and I chatted, were in a nearby room, daintily eating pizza while Holly watched - are term-limited. Gone are the days when Hef could handle seven girlfriends at once.

"I am slowing down - in my fashion," Hef said.

Baby, maybe. But marriage, never.

"Not because I don't care enough for her, but because I don't want to spoil the relationship," said Hef, who turns 80 on April 9.

Why would marriage spoil things?

"Why indeed? I don't know why. It has in the past. ... Holly made a comment once that in her dream, that five years from now it might be just the two of us. I think that's a real possibility."

I would be very surprised if Holly winds up pregnant...like I said she is just biding her time to see if the reality tv series ("The Girls Next Door") and the playboy spread open any doors for her...imo.

I know I could NEVER be attracted to a 80 year old man,or (unless I was 80?)..I doubt I could even do a good job at faking it. I agree, its skeevy.

I felt this way when HH was 50, it ain't his age, it's him...

He was born a snotty Kleenex and he'll die a snotty Kleenex.
And any women who's been with him is, is.....well, willing to pick up someone else's snotty tissue!

How about, "Taking life by the horns and making it give you what you want"

No doubt the things you want in life, and the things he wants out of life are different, but he's not violent,
he even gives to charity as well.

He's not sick. He's just not like you.

Hef's a fine person and even a good role model. Not for Christians of course.

Say what you want about him..but at 80..if YOU had a chance to spend your nights with those girls.....we should all have the luck and the stamina to just keep up....

Damn straight. All this Hef hatin' is sour grapes.

I'm sure the child will be VERY proud of its mother's 'body of work' when he or she becomes a teenager./sarc

EW!
Hef's an old pig who just needs to stop proving what a man he is. Give it a rest already.

And please, don't spread any more of your genes around the gene pool!

Thanks,
Appreciative Female

I used to watch NYPD Blue and the character of Dennis Franz was married twice and both times to a real looker. I always laughed at that show, No regular cop who looked like Franz could get laid by either of those women unless it was in a Vegas cat house with a hundred dollar bill in his hand.

Now money and celebrity will get you most anything.

Well, certainly not a good role model for you or your children.

You worry about society being "sexualized" it could be a lot of other far worse things. There is nothing wrong with sex, or even being sexual.

Of all the "evils" in the world today, sex is by far the least of them (though I wouldn't consider it an evil at all). Even you must admit that.
