No offense, but Texas weather is so %#* hot and humid I about died from drowning in my own sweat when there. It was like being on the scorched surface of Venus, except with dripping humidity.
While taking a walk, passed by a gentleman and commented on the high humidity (live in Virginia) -- he said he was from Texas and that the weather here in Virginia was heaven. He said Texas has two seasons: Summer and Hell.
You've just been to the wrong part. Where I live, it's been 75 to 80 degrees all week, about 20 percent humidity, and wind hasn't gotten over 15 mph all week. (Plus the women here are the prettiest).
That's why air conditioning was invented. Up until I was in the 6th grade our schools had no a/c. I can remember coming in from recess and pushing/shoving to get to be front and center in front of the big fan.
I've become acclimated now and used to count the days until fall when I lived there. You learn to not sit on car seats right after you open the car door because it feels like strips of your skin are going to be left on the seat. Touching the steering wheel, need another towel. Covered parking places were coveted.
There's still no place like Texas. Maybe part of it is a state of mind.
