I guess that weeds out many of the drunks/trouble makers. The owners wanted to make the park experience more family oriented. Do you remember, old Comiskey used to be called the biggest tavern in the city.I think the fans that do show up now are true baseball fans, that go to enjoy a baseball game. Would it be nice to have a few more bars/restaurants in the area, sure. Wrigley is more of a social event, to most who go there, the game is secondary.

I think that it's just the atmosphere around Wrigleyville that adds to the whole mystic. U.S. Cellular doesn't have that because it's near the expressway and abandoned housing projects. If the Sox end up winning the series, Reinsdorf would be wise to encourage retail investment in that area, because if he doesn't, they still aren't going to outdraw the Cubs.
