This morning President Bush met with Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the Commission of the European Communities in the Oval Office at the White House.

This afternoon, the President met with Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff, Cabinet Members and Legislators in the East Room of the White House to sign the Homeland Security Appropriations Act for 2006, which increases border security, and provides more detention facilities and speedier removal of illegal immigrants.

The White House website has provided a Fact Sheet with the details of the Appropriations Act.

Great analysis, Mike! Lots of folks remember Reagan with rose colored glasses.

Both he and GWB are/were phenomenal Presidents, but our W has had much more to deal with. What he has had to lead us through would have crushed a lesser man.

It's a Getty photo, Deb, and we can't post it here.

People can see it by clicking on your link, though.

Good night!

I'll bet he has it available on his website or will be on Fox's website. You can also catch the replay....late night setting the recorder.

I hope to see the Rush on Broadway event on DVD or available for download on Rush 24/7. He discussed it as a "wait and see" item on his radio show today.

I heard him. He said he had no idea what he was going to say.

I perform and speak, and I always know EXACTLY what I'm going to say. I can't even imagine 'ad libbing' on Broadway!

Now THAT's confidence!

That's a pretty good assessment of the legacy GWB will leave on the world. One thing in particular strike me about him and Reagan is their optimism and comfort they gave to the country in times of great troubles.

Thanks OWF, I consider it truthful analysis, granted... the Middles East is far from seeing Democracy spreading, but I believe Iraq will be the conduit in the Middle East like Poland was for Eastern Europe.

The seed of Liberty has been planted in the Middle East and the proof is in the pudding.... We hear from the MSM that the Sunnis plan to come out in droves and vote down the Iraqi Constitution..... That is the proof.. and the MSM can even recognize it :-) THE SUNNI'S ARE VOTING and the MSM doesn't even see it as Democracy taking hold. By going to the Polls, the Sunni's have recognized that violence can't win the day, this is the beginning of the end for the insurgency in Iraq.

All of this is happening as the Liberals in the MSM are focusing on a fraud named Joe Wilson and a partisan hack in Texas named Ronnie Earle in the hopes of denying president Bush the legacy he has earned. Meanwhile, President Bush ignores them as he keeps his eye on the big picture and his goal of spreading the Liberty that God had intended for all of His children.

Many people see this current point in time as bad for President Bush... I totally disagree, these are defining times that separate the people who are serious and those who are not, and we know where they stand and where George W. Bush does.

The Miers nomination is another example of a leader, GWB isn't even afraid of his base, he made a decision and he is sticking with it, I think History will be kind to him on Miers as well :-)

I think the interview with Hannity was a way for him to warm up....his "show-prep", so to speak.

LoL! There are differences, but I do see that being able to roam around the White House while Reagan was President rubbed off on him, especially in the way he holds respect for the office. One example, GWB and Reagan both always wear a jacket and tie to the office.
