I personally do not know one person, democrat or republican, that wants to see Roe overturned. (I am considered a freak in that sense.) A strong social conservative will alienate "suburban" (ie, highly educated, well-off, not super religious) voters. May not matter to most people, but it is a fact.

With all the issues a President confronts, it is beyond idiocy to vote on who may, if he gets the opportunity, nominate a justice- who if they get the opportunity- may or may not overturn the Roe decision- which is any event will have no practical effect on abortion in this country.

I know hundreds and hundreds of Democrats who want Roe overturned. And with the exception of a few mentally ill people, all Republicans want it overturned.
