Iran leader's words 'sicken' UK

Britain is to summon a top Iranian diplomat to protest against his president's comments about Israel. Hardline Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called for the Jewish state to be "wiped off the map".

The Foreign Office will call in Iran's London chargé d'affaires on Thursday. It said the comments were "deeply disturbing and sickening".

The US said they highlighted concerns about Iran's nuclear plans, which Iran says are for peaceful purposes only.

'Horrible reality'

Mr Ahmadinejad made his comments at a conference in the Iranian capital Tehran entitled The World without Zionism.

He said Israel's establishment was "a move by the world oppressor (the West) against the Islamic world".

Referring to Iran's late revolutionary leader Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Mr Ahmadinejad said: "As the Imam said, Israel must be wiped off the map."

At least five people were killed and up to 30 wounded in what police say was a suicide bomb attack in Hadera, northern Israel on Wednesday.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad group said it carried out the attack in revenge for Israel's killing of its senior leader, Luay Saadi, on Monday.

Israel reacted by approving a military operation against Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.

A Foreign Office spokesman said the Hadera bombing showed "the horrible reality of the violence he [Mahmoud Ahmadinejad] is praising".

Mr Ahmadinejad came to power earlier this year, replacing Mohammad Khatami, a reformist who attempted to improve Iran's relations with the West.

Right, another Kumbaya wish from the clueless left.

Can't we just hold hands and get along ?

I tell you, as much as it saddens me to say, they will not get it until they feel the pain of personal loss. They will have to hear the screams of their own children to wake up. God forgive me for saying this.

Then they will say, how come we did not do anything about it ? DUhmies

Oliver North and others have been warning of this since the mid-80's. I was in my early 20's then but remember it vividly !

The only rational response to this rhetoric is to take out Iran's nuclear facilities Osirak-style.

Dropping a daisy cutter on the presidential palace might not be a bad idea, either.

"Iran has no ability to actually do anything to follow through on its rantings."

Empty barrels make the loudest noise.

These fascist-style nations that depend on negative slogans (anti-U.S., anti-Israel) for morale seem to fail in the end. These hotheaded people seem to live on hot air.

Remember when Red China had anti-U.S. demonstrations as part of their propaganda spectacles? Whatever happened to those? (Or Communism?)

A friend of mine said that people who get busy with their lives tend to be less critical of others. Maybe China got too busy chucking an inefficient regime to care anymore about the "decadent West." Even the Arabs who are enjoying oil wealth seem indifferent to Israel (at least openly).

Maybe the Iranians need to get a life.

Do you know that news abroad is very anti-USA ?

A guy called into Sean Hanitty's show last week from Chile. He said the news there was all hate America.

I did not know this.

Being right is never easy. Being right is lonely at times, but no matter !! Never forget our role in this world folks !

It will go backwards as a whole unless we keep doing what we are doing. By the grace and dedication of those who serve in all branches of the Armed Forces.

Too bad we have to fight the DUhmies here too!! United States....: )

Watching the outside world makes me doubly grateful to be an American.

Missiles that can reach London from Iran have been delivered to Iran by China/Russia (older news). That's what's bugging Britain.
