I don't know if you are as important as you think you are but if what you want happens, what would be the difference between the two parties? I'm not being saracatic. Just curious. IMO the conservative right is what makes the difference now.

You folks never have understood who your true enemy is.

It is not the center!

It is your counterparts on the left.

Wish you coulda played nice, but it ain't personal, it is political. We do what we need to do in order to gain control of the country. But that was not good enough, so now you want to control the party.

Bush has thrown a lot of red meat to the Christian conservatives and the social conservatives.

I guess it was not enough, but it was all the center would tolerate.

And so it goes......

It's like a circle jerk, but who can stop it? I know that I cannot, but I tried. So did Bush. Now history repeats once again.A strong third party will emerge, some party will get the benifit of that, and likely the Democrats. Same, same, same.
