When a soldier dies
A protester gloats
A family cries
An Iraqi votes
Hey, great poem-puts the whole sit. in a nutshell.
I've been dealing with some lefties here on my college campus. One asked why we were still in there after so many soldiers had died
I felt like telling them to remember that 3,000 civilians died on 9-11-01, that the soldiers had signed up to do a job, that every death was tragic, but the men and women in our armed services know that there are risks to serving.
They weren't forced into the army, they made the choice to join, some of them wanting to see acutal combat after 9-11, and I honor them for that, as their sacrifice has brought freedom to the land of wood-chippers. I feel sorry for the families who have lost loved ones, but I will not, and can not condemn the war in Iraq. We should stay in until the job is done.
Great Poem--is it yours and can we repeat it?
That's good!
