NONSENSE. Luttig has been on the federal appellate bench for 14 years and is solid as a rock. I have known him for over 25 years. He's outstanding. (I've known Alito for 20 years, and he's outstanding as well.)

Luttig or Alito would make a fine choice and would definitely move the SC to the right.

Hushed silence as the great one enters the thread. If you say Luttig and Alito are solid, then I'll take that to the bank.

Hello,
Your opinion regarding this issue means a great deal to me, and I would venture, the vast majority of FR. Thank you for your insight.
Glad to be here, glad you are too, MOgirl

Any comment about this
rumor/opinion as to Luttig being an academic mediocrity who traded contacts for power, riding the Scalia wave as a courtier?

Did you go to law school or college together?
Would you say either one, or do you have a preference?

If you had your choice between Alito or Luttig, who would you pick, or does it even matter - great quality with either.
