NRO has a blurb that Lautenberg just endorsed Alito. I think that is an old quote from when he was nominated in 1990 for the appeals court.

I wonder if this pick could also in a second hand way help Senator Rick Santorum from PA. I am getting the idea that Alito is well known in the PA, NJ area. If a battle begins it might bring our the conservatives in PA in full force.
