This pick makes me think that Miers probably would have been ok.
I mean, if Alito is pick number TWO......
Of course "probably" was the problem to begin with. At any rate, I am extremely happy with Alito. I think it will restore the party, galvanize the base, and move us one step closer to having an intellectually coherent court.
