WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Citing a history of written opinions that consistently side with powerful special interests against ordinary Americans, MoveOn.org Political Action today opposed President Bush's nomination of Appellate Judge Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court.

MoveOn will mobilize its 3.3 million members in a campaign to urge Senators to oppose his confirmation.

"Many of Alito's opinions as an Appellate Judge were so extreme that he was reversed and rebuked by his colleagues. But on the Supreme Court, joining with fellow extreme right-wingers, Scalia and Thomas, he could do real damage," Brandzel added.

Among Alito's opinions to which MoveOn objects are the following:

What a shocking position for the Michael Moore/George Soros crowd to take. Last week, the leftist Democraps were faintly praising Miers. Now they squeal like stuck pigs. And that's very appropriate for Moore and Soros both.

If the law is on the side of the powerful special interests, then he should side with them. If Congress doesn't like it, then it can change the laws. And if we don't like it, then we can change our Congressman.

I don't suppose it occurs to the ultra-brainy leftist hypocrites that George Soros is a rather powerful "special interest."

No. That would be expecting too much.

Yeah. And Ginsburg did?

The more I hear the left going nuts over this, the more I believe the President made a good decision.

I tried to watch Schumer's diatribe against Alito on Fox this morning. One could have gotten very drunk should one be so inclined to have taken a drink every time he said "in the mold of Sandra Day O'Connor".
