And helps delay the Alito hearings.

Astute observation on your part.
Since the Right to Take Life Lobby does not have the votes to stop an enactment of the Constitutional Option over Alito, they figure they should at least have a test run if not a full blown Nuclear Senate Meltdown right now.

It's pathetic that these Rats are trying to convince us that they get their Intelligence briefings from the President. What they are admitting when they say Bush lied is that they were too "busy" to attend the briefings from the Intelligence Agencies. Asleep on the job.

That was "William" Powell.

Thanks for that, but that name was already corrected in post # 1341.

I concur with the MSNBC reporter.

I need to update my tagline....

Have the (D)s promised to stage a Nuclear Metdown every day, or was today's pretense satisfied?

I heard on Fox that someone promised this would be a regular occurrance. I'm divided on this, actually. It's generally a good thing when the Congress is out.

My son got Halloween candy down in the keyboard. I'm having a heck of a time typing tonight. Gotta get some contact cleaner tomorrow.

THEY voted for this war on the same intel the President saw

And their base is NOT happy about it

I don't know if this was mentioned today but Reid's Nuclear Senate Meltdown is holding up the cure for the next flu Pandemic that could kill millions.

Dubya was looking around the corner by playing the Pandemic card toay.

O'Reilly even posited that Bush FAKED intelligence to go to war!!!

I'm telling anyone who will listen that the Rats and their pals in the MSM are going to have the Pubbies on the run unless they stand up and stop this lying nonsense. The general American public does not know what to believe, but they hear mostly of the Wilson/Plame LIES and so they think since there is smoke there must be a BUSH fire somewhere.

A little off the subject of this thread, but I am trying to locate Bush's speech to the joint houses of Congress detailing why we needed to invade Iraq. Not his State of the Union speech, but the one before that where he was looking for their approval. Anyone have that link?

The dems are having a melt down

Reid went on the Senate floor .. bashed the President .. bashed the VP .. bashed Pat Roberts and called for rule 21 .. a special session without letting First and the Top Pubblies know what he has planned

Durbin jumped in and quickly second it

They basically shut down the Senate ..

Claims it was because the pubbies were stonewalling on phase 2 of the Senate Intel Committee investigation

Turns out that this investigation started in Feb of 2004 and was ready to move forward in May but the Dems kept delay it for one reason after another

Roberts said they were ready to have a report on the 14th and doesn't understand what this stunt was about and the personal attacks on him

Rockefeller basically called Roberts a liar in his speech

First is TICKED OFF .. says this was a slap in his face by Reid and that he can't trust Reid anymore

Pat Roberts is tick also

The dems and their talking heads are flat out lying about stuff ..

Claiming Rove was mentioned in the indictment .. when he was not

Saying that Libby is covering for Cheney .. when he is not

The Dems refuse to acknowledge that Fitz made it clear in his presser that the indictment had nothing to do with the war

I hate to say it, but the Democrats seem to win this battle for now. They got what they wanted: a national attention to thir issue.

In any war, a surprise element is important. The GOP Senators always think the Dems are their friends. Now they pay the price. To some degree, they got what they deserved.

We need to step back and think. Whining "unfair", "lost trust", etc. in front of camera, are useless. Hopefully, Republican Senators don't come with crap like "we need to listen to the other side better"...

They were delaying it with the hope that Fitz would issue an indictment of sorts against the war. When that didn't happen, they staged a closed session to try to deflect attention away from Fitz's news conference and the subsequent Alito nomination, bird flu, and everything else that Americans are more interested in right now.
