CAPITOL HILL Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid wants President Bush to promise he won't pardon former White House aide Lewis Libby.
Reid calls leaking national security secrets "a serious crime" that "should not be condoned."
He wants the president to "make a commitment to the American people" that he won't pardon Libby or anyone else involved in the C-I-A leak scandal.
He and other Democrats also want to know if the possibility of a pardon has been discussed with Libby.
Libby is the former chief of staff to Vice President Cheney. Libby was charged last week with lying to investigators and a grand jury.

I'm so mad I could just spit. The RATS are trying to paint the President into a corner on this. Agree to the pledge and the RATS spin it as an admission of Libby's guilt. Refuse and they spin it as Bush trying to cover something up.

I guess if Libby would have made campaign contributions then committed a crime, it would be just fine to be pardoned?

Only after we prosecute to the fullest extent of the law those who have leaked our national secrets regarding bases abroad and battle plans during a time of war.

Option 3: Ignore it. I think W knows that this whole thing is going to blow up in the Rats face. Once again, he's letting them crawl out further on the limb before he saws it off.

Reid and the other democrat Traitors should be asking for a pardon. They are giving aid and comfort to the enemy every day and I cannot find ONE Republican Senator that will stand up to these anti-American scum bags.
Where oh where is someone with a backbone that we can elect to the US Senate?

If it weren't for double standards, the Democrats wouldn't have any standards at all.

Leaky Leahy was just on TV and he agrees. He said it's not the leaking of the secret prisons that is bad, it's the fact that we have them.

Mr. Bush should reply with two words, "Mark Rich."
Upon inquiry, he should explain that when the Dammocraps are ready to impeach Mr. Clinton for the abusive pardon of Mr. Rich, and stand ready to vote conviction in the Senate, they should get back to him (yes, you can impeach a former president, as conviction will bring loss of the emoluments that accrue to the former president).

Bush should call Reid's bluff and agree. "Unlike my predecessor, I do not issue presidential pardons to anyone who is not deserving of one. Unlike my predecessor, I respect this special prosecutor and have consistently ordered everyone in my Administration to cooperate fully with him and refrain from any attacks on him or any witnesses in the investigation. I believe Mr. Fitzgerald has conducted a fair and impartial investigation and I believe the justice system should be allowed to take its course from here. All defendants are presumed innocent and have a right to persue exoneration in court, but if they are proven guilty by a jury they must accept that verdict and whatever penalties ensue. I have no intention of pardoning anyone involved in this investigation."
Can you see Reid's head exploding?

Reid has the man tried ,convicted, and sentenced and has asked the President not to pardon him, and he doesnt even understand the charges..
What the hell is wrong with this idiot?
1. He hasnt been tried.
2. he hasnt been convicted
3. he hasnt received a sentence,
HE DOESNT NEED A PARDON. Probably never will.
Dear Mr. Reid Please get you head out of your rectum. At least try to remember that Libby is charged with perjury not leaking information, He isnt Senator Leahy your Buddy, who HAS leaked secret information, and should need a pardon.
The ignorance of this guy Reid is amazing.
