Trees have been used for a jillion things. The Christmas tree in its modern incarnation was thought up by Martin Luther who would have had a kitten if you had accused him of Baal worship.
Epidemic of Injuries and Deaths from Cheap Chinese Wal-Mart Bogometers
;-)
Dude,Target is MILF-city.
Like most stores they say its OK to make money on Christmas shopping, we just don't want to recognize it.
Then, I did a search for Satanism:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/search-ng.gsp?search_constraint=0&search_query=Satanism&ics=20&ico=0
I worked in the christmas tree lot at Home Depot a few years ago for extra cash. We were told to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" to the people buying CHRISTMAS TREES so we wouldn't offend anyone.
It's the act of "GIVING" that is Christmas. A blender could be Christmas to someone who didn't have a blender.
Jeez...what crap!
Yeah, and not only that but please show me a major retailer that is able to sell OTHER than Chinese made products, sheesh!
THen I did a search for Wiccan:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/search-ng.gsp?search_constraint=0&search_query=Wiccan&ics=20&ico=0
Where the Satanism search had anti-satanist items, the Wiccan search turned up spell books, et al.
Sam would never have allowed this stuff...I think.
I'm sorry but that email doesn't sound even remotely real. I think somebody's trying to start trouble for Wal Mart and/or Bill Donohue.
Bill Donohue says:
Contact Fogleman at
dan.fogleman@walmart.com.
7970 items found for Christmas
Now, I'm not sure why, if I specifically type in "christmas", that they would assume I would be offended by a search for "christmas" and instead want "holiday".
But I think it's because a lot of their "christmas" ITEMS which they get from manufacturers are named "Holiday" instead of "Christmas", and they just want to make sure we see all the stuff we want to see (like their "Holiday Season Lights").
No clue what that means.
My God, if you walk into Wal-Mart you are bombarded with Christmas! The idea of Wal-Mart "banning" Christmas based on someone not being able to read their website search result is ridiculous.
This has to be a hoax.
